Meet the Maker:

Aislinn was placed in foster care at 13 years old, aged out at 18 years old, and is now 20 years old.

She says, “I have always been known as the girl in foster care and that comes with a negative label on me before people would even get to know me. I was ashamed of being in foster care.”

At 18, she was thrown into the challenges of navigating everything at once: finishing high school, figuring out how to pay bills, and fully taking care of herself. “I was over being in foster care, but so scared as foster care was all I knew.”

There was so much she felt like she couldn't do because she was in foster care, but creating beauty is something she knew she could do whenever and wherever she wanted. She's loved painting and crafts since elementary school and that love has continued to grow.
